What’s this about?

This is just a brainchild of a few days thougt process. I’d like to call it - THE HYDERABAD SIMPLIFIED ONLINE PROJECT (HSOP) . Kindly read further to get wind of what this is all about.

It’s quarter past eight in the morning and you’ve just reached Hyderabad from another state for an important work. You need to reach a certain place but you happen to forget the directions to that place. As such you do not know anyone in this place. Worse you don’t even know Telugu or Hindi! What would you do in such a circumstance? Call your contact in your base location and ask him for directions? Muster courage and try venturing by yourself or Give a damn to the auto fare, hop into one and ask him to take you to your destination?

Wouldn’t it be great if you could have the information at the click of a button? Get access to a site the moment you drop in and find out the directions by yourself? Find out the current auto fare to your destination? Have a brief map of the route that the driver may take? Or even talk to a helpful local person on phone and ask him for the direction?

Let’s consider another situation wherein one weekend you’re getting hell bored lazing in your home. You just don’t know what to do and all that is just because you don’t know where to go and do what! Probably if you knew there is some new restaurant that has popped somewhere, you would have given that a shot! For all you know, there’s a wonderful event happening at a near by place and you just didn’t have wind of that. How miserable would it be when you realize you missed it just because someone didn’t tell you?

These are some of the aspects that triggered me to start up this site. ( It’s a blog for now. Probably it would be modified into a full fledged site based on the requirements) . Well, you may ask – So what’s new? I can as well google and get what I want. Quite true! You can. But could you tell me, How many times have you searched for some information on the net and found that the info that you wanted was in altogether different sites. Was that information current? Did you have people telling you how up to date that info was? How many irritating ads did you have to by pass to get the info that you wanted? Bingo! That is what the Hyderabad journal is all about. A one stop, ad free, closed contributor developed site for the most happening things in town.

Now to the main aspect how do I go about it? This is something that I started off when I’m relatively free and I all by myself cannot keep a tab on the maintenance of it. If you feel this idea may click, it may help people ease out from the above mentioned hassles and that in some way you can help me in building up this as a totally free to browse site. Please drop me a reply as a comment in this page with your details. I’d get back to you ASAP

Spiky

P.S: The page needs to be kept simple and at the same time should have vital information. That is something that we need to work on a routine basis at least till the backbone of the site is built. So initially visitors to the site may see a few minor changes in the design.

  • I think a very valuable addition to this site would be people writing about their experiences in a particular place. You could recommend a favorite restaurant to go to, tourist attraction to visit etc. Many a time, you have heard about a place….but when you actually walk into the location, you find that it isn’t up to your expectations. Somebody who has actually been there and done that can post a review. Let me know what your thoughts are on this…
